 Annual Report 2018-19


Our vidyalaya is relentlessly strives to discover and trigger the talents and insights latent in the children. The achievements of the vidyalaya in various fields are testimony for the multifarious talents of students.

            I am proud to present a brief glimpse of  achievements. The year 2018-19 has been a very eventful one. The members associated with K V Malda have made great efforts to transform completely into the Uniform system of Assessment of CBSE and Back to Basics format, as KVS is being a pace set up organization in which new method of teaching learning process introduce in the year 2018-19 up to class VIII and have been extremely successful in most of the endeavors. Apart from preparing the children to qualify for purely academic demands, special efforts are being made continuously to enable them to face the challenges of the competitive world.


Samuel Johnson said that “Great works are performed not by strength, but by perseverance “.I wish to begin with the performance on the academic front. Achieving academic excellence is at the heart of our endeavour as educators. Academic achievements reflect a demonstrated ability to perform to the best of one’s ability by developing one’s intellectual potentials and skills with diligence. It is a matter of great happiness to share the details of the commendable performances of the students.

The CBSE Board results for the year 2018-19 of our school which speak volumes of the performance of our school students.This year school has produced an excellent result in AISSCE 2019. The overall result is 98.33percent which itself has created history.The merit holders of the session 2019

● “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”
●  Therefore, our achievement in the field of games and sports is at par with the academic. Our students actively participated in different games and sports competitions and won medals, certificates and trophies. I feel extremely proud to announce that Master Soubhik Shit of class X brought silver medal in Javelin throw, 02 bronze medal brought by Miss Supriya Kumari and by Master Rohit Kumar in 400metre race at regional level.
● Our Cricket team added another feather to the fame of our vidyalaya by becoming  winner of the Cricket tournament under 19 at District level.


The dream of Baden Powel can be seen in vidyalaya activities still alive .we have trained teachers along with 112 students registered as Scouts and Guides,Cubs and Bulbuls.


● “The quality of your thinking, determines the quality of your mind.”
● Participation in the Science, Maths, English , Informatics  Olympiad, itself is the biggest competition where a student competes to outshine others. It infuses a healthy competitive spirit through reward based assessment.


In order to promote Co-curricular activities, our students are divided into four Houses- Aurobindo,subhash,Tagore and Vivekananda.We provide ample opportunities to the children to develop their talent along with a spirit of sportsmanship. We encourage maximum students’ participation so that child gets the chance to showcase their talents.  Prizes & Certificates are given to the students to encourage them and motivate them. 

Round the year, several inter-house competitions like poem recitation, calligraphy, song and dance, drawing, extempore, skit and debate were held.

  Library:-  Vidyalaya library  has a huge stockpile of books on various subjects from language to Science, Computer, History, G.K., Commerce, Literature etc  for the exclusive use and facility of the students and the teachers. It is almost automated using software e-granthalaya developed by NIC for book circulation and for routine activity. It also facilitate the searching facility of the collection via OPAC service.



The vidyalaya is functioning with well equipped Laboratories for Physics,Chemistry,Biology and Computer Science. As per the CBSE guidelines vidyalaya has Junior Science Laboratory and Resource Room. This year KVS has taken up the initiatives in implementing E Classrooms in a wider way than before. We have received 30 computers,30 work station and 10 projectors to set up a digital language Lab so that the learning experiments must be conducted in virtual environment which will be of great help for the learners.

Adolescent Education Programme:- National Adolescent Education Programme is being followed as per the directions of the Govt. of India and Innovative Ideas are used by trainees.

Successful Implementation of RTE:- Right to Education has been implemented in letter and spirit in the Vidyalaya. Every year students are admitted under RTE in Class I ensuring that all children complete their elementary education meeting all the specified norms. 


Every important day is celebrated at the Vidyalaya to enable students know its importance. Independence Day, Republic Day, Teachers’ Day, Children’s Day, National Integration Day, Hindi Pakhwada, Matri Bhasha Diwas are a few to mention. In order to make children know the importance of their Grand Parents in their lives, Grand Parents’ Day was celebrated in the vidyalaya. More than a hundred grandparents of Primary classes graced the occasion and they were felicitated by Tiny Tots. They took part in exciting games events and entertained their grandchildren.

PISA- The Programme for International Student Assessment(PISA) is a triennial international survey which aims to evaluate education systems worldwide by testing the skills and knowledge of 15 year old students who are nearing the end of their compulsory education. PISA assesses how well they can apply what they learn in school to real-life situations. I feel extremely proud to inform that out of 85 selected Kendriya Vidyalayas,our vidyalaya is one of them chosen for conducting  PISA. 


As per norms of KVS, CMP is implemented in the vidyalaya and is closely monitored by the Senior most PRT and the  Principal. The following activities were under taken in our Primary section.

 A number of Parent Teacher meetings were conducted during the session and a large number of parents attended and took part in discussions and offered their valuable suggestions for further improvement of their wards’ performance in academic and other activities. Special classes were conducted for late bloomers during the winter break, after normal school hours and during the holidays. Remedial measures were undertaken during these classes which have been immensely helpful to the students. 


Total sanctioned posts for the session 2018-19 are 37. At present 33 are regular and 4 posts are lying vacant.The vidyalaya imparts education to the students from class 1 to XII by the teachers being selected at all India level with the help of latest and modern technological equipment. Teachers have to undergo In-Service training very often to know the most update method of education. With the cooperation of VMC part time contractual teachers have been appointed as per requirement.

In keeping with the school’s policy of continuous upgradation of knowledge and skills, the teachers attended various workshops and seminars organized by the school and others so as to improve their academic transaction skills and to update their capabilities.


Many milestones have been achieved and many still have to be reached. We will continue our unceasing efforts to mould the young minds into well balanced personalities with confidence and zeal befitting the standards of this portal of education.


I take this opportunity to express sincere gratitude to the honorable Chairman Shrimati Tanu Chandra madam DRM Eastern Rly,Malda Division & Chairman Vidyalaya Management Committee because of her prior engagement she could not attend today’s programme. At the same time I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the chief guest of the day Sri Sanjay Kumar Bhagat ADRM Eastern Rly,Malda Division,Nominee Chairman Vidyalaya Management Committee  for their magnanimous care and Affirmative actions which abundantly helped for the smooth functioning of this Vidyalaya. 

I do acknowledge my gratitude towards our all time source of support and inspiration Sri                     

DIG BSF Malda,he has  always stood like a pillar . K V Malda is extremely indebted for your kindness and for the support and encouragement extended.


I take this opportunity to thank all the dignitaries of NHPC for their unconditional support and for their genuine help and cooperation extended to the vidyalaya for the betterment of school.  I express my heartfelt thanks to our neighbouring schools, PTA members, distinguished guests and respected parents , guardians for rendering their help in maintaining a meaningful interaction between parents and teachers, resulting in the all-round development of the Vidyalaya and its students. Lastly, my sincere thanks and deep sense of appreciation are due to my dedicated and hardworking team of staff who put in all their efforts for the welfare and education of students.My appreciation to all my  beloved children who have contributed their best in all the curricular and co-curricular activities to bring laurels to themselves and  to Vidyalaya.

Our students and teachers have worked hard to promote the cause of Teaching-Learning for the all round development of our students personality. Their activities have won laurels to the Vidyalaya. Our team will keep up this spirit to achieve new targets and bring laurels to Vidyalaya.
